about

Music to me is much more about the story than anything else, but it's not necessarily the meaning of the story that is important to me. For example, if I was to write a line of lyrics that went something like "and I flew high above the clouds" the meaning of the line could be thought of in endless ways. one might take it literally, one might take it as someone is rising about a situation that is not desirable. This to me is a very beautiful thing. with one line, from person to person, there can be multiple interpretations depending not only upon the context of the rest of the song but also upon the context of the individual's life.
But as I said earlier, this meaning is not the most important thing to me. What is most interesting to me in music or any art form for that matter is the feeling. Not the meaning, but the feeling. how do those lyrics make you feel? How does the 'dying swan guitar screeching bloody murder' combined with 'the kick drum the sounds like it was recorded in an empty soup can' make you feel? The example of the lyrics is applicable to not only lyrics or words but sounds and noises.
Music to me is about creating strict pallet of sound that you then in your own mind start to blend into different colors, these colors grow deeper and soon you find your no longer on your couch with your headphones on, your no longer on break at work listening to music through your phone speakers, your no longer listing to your vintage vinyl through your surround sound stereo system. You are inside the music, inside a temporary lush world of feeling. these sounds become your sky and ground. and you can exist there and explore there. With my music, I hope to bring you this experience.
I hope that after listening that you take with you not only a meaning, but you embrace and understand what you feel, during the musical journey.
